For Peace is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the creation of world peace. Based on research done around the world, which was published in major science journals, the way to achieve this goal is to increase the number of people in any area practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique to at least 1% of the area’s population (and eventually the more advanced and powerful TM-Sidhi techniques). This is because when that number is reached, crime and violence in the area declines, indicating an improvement in the quality of thinking, the things thought about and the decisions made. The advanced meditation technique produces the same effect with fewer people.
Right now, there are millions of people around the world practicing the TM technique. There are some businesses where all employees are practitioners and others where a high percentage is. There are grade schools where it is part of each day’s curriculum or schedule, called “Quiet Time.” The TM course is offered at some universities, and at one, Maharishi University of Management, everyone practices it, or will be taught when they can arrange it. More such universities are being built around the world.
There are two cities in Iowa, one where a high percentage of the residents practice it, Fairfield, and Vedic City, where 100% do.
The goal is to have 1% of each country practicing the TM technique (and eventually the advanced TM-Sidhi techniques), because of the research that shows that when that percent of the population in an area practices the technique, the crime rate in that area declines.
To find out what percent of any area is currently practicing the TM technique, click on the area listed below and on the next pages.
